Pokémon Uranium is a free fangame developed in RPG Maker XP and Pokémon Essentials. The game is set in the Tandor region, where the player needs to collect 8 gymnastics badges in order to participate in the Tandor regional championship. Along the way, the player must also fill up their PokéDex with entries for more than 190 different Pokémon species.
The story of the game takes place in a different region. An explosion in a nuclear power plant causes a lot of devastation, and our main character loses his mother and is now living with his aunt. As in most Pokemon games, the character embarks on a journey to catch Pokemon and battle the gym bosses, and the rest follows.
The Pokemon are from the games, but Pokemon Uranium has some original Pokemon to offer as well.
There’s also an interesting way to get your starter Pokemon. Instead of choosing from the three Pokemon, Uranium takes a page from the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games where you have to answer a series of questions. Your answers determine which starter Pokemon you can get. This means that if you want to get the Pokemon you want, you can search a guide for the right answers, or just try a little.
Be sure to check out Pokemon Emerald Essence.
Unique game concept
There are other exciting concepts such as side quests and a new type, namely Nuclear. The interesting thing about Nuke-types is that they are very effective against types other than Steel. The downside is that they’re also weak on all types other than Steel. Then there are the corrupted Nuclear Pokemon. They are much more aggressive and if you catch them you can use them too.
Corrupted Nuke Pokemon can be difficult to use because they can also oppose your commands in battle. It is also interesting that Pokemon Uranium was banned by Nintendo in the same year. While the official developers are no longer updating the game, the community is still working on this game to this day, keeping it updated and download links are still available.

Here are the download links for the latest version of Pokémon Uranium (currently 1.2.5).
Note that : Pokémon Uranium is a standalone game for Windows PC. It is NOT a ROM hack and CANNOT be played on an emulator! However, it can be played on Mac or Linux with the help of Wine. (Wine STAGING is highly recommended as Uranium has issues with the stable branch).
Some people have received “Windows has protected your PC” message during installation. Note that the message does not claim that it is a virus, only that it is an “unrecognized application”. Click “More Info” and then click “Run Anyway” to bypass the message. If you still don’t trust it, you should definitely scan it with your antivirus of choice. Also Try Pokemon Snow Warning.
Choose one or the other, you don’t need both. Use one of the mirrors if the main link doesn’t work for some reason.
Is it possible to play pokemon uranium on android?
(This app can also let you play Ren’Py Visual Novel games)
After that, you’ll need to zip your Uranium install folder, and move it to your android phone. Extract the game somwhere, then open the JoiPlay app.
Inside the app, add a game, select the uranium.exe, add the game’s name and version, then save and launch it.
The app will then ask you one or two question.
For the first one, choose the default setting and not the null thing,
for the second, it will ask you if you want to decompress one of the game file, for better performance. Say yes, obviously.
When you are ingame, I would advise you to set the game to 60fps if your phone can handle it. There’s also a performance mode that can be useful if you lag way too much. The game will be less pretty, tho.
